I like to think I am a brand loyal person and I like to stick to a few brands for basically everything I do. It's definitely a toss up among two of my most favorite: Mammut and Apple. They're a luxury brand but their build quality is what I am paying for; I buy a laptop, I want it to last a good amount of years, with a MacBook, I'm paying that premium for that longevity. Same with my ski gear and winter wear, I am paying for the quality so that it's not going to fall apart after a few runs, but it's going to last a few seasons, all while keeping me warm. I will have to go with Apple, though, as it encompasses most of my day-to-day life.

The product benefits of an Apple product is that you're going to get support and updates for the life of the device cycle which is about 4 years for the device, whereas most updates on the Galaxy Android line runs out after about 2 years. The age old statement by anti-Apple people being "Oh I can build it for $X cheaper," yeah, sure, I can build a house for $X cheaper, but is it going to be a good house? Not quite. You can buy a dell laptop and you'll feel it slow down over the course of a few months, battery life begins to age, you're dying to stay connected to your power adapter. That's not the life you'll have with a MacBook.

The Apple design philosophy is simple and minimalist. The beautiful design of all the Apple products are sleek and uniform. They stand out from the rest, while the rest try and struggle to keep up while trying to not look like they're copying. They support the environmental objectives of other manufactures by using as many recyclable materials as they can in the manufacturing process and turning to recycled iPhones for replacement parts. Being sure to have 100% PVC and mercury and lead free materials.

The company is just like its product, minimalistic. Apple. Apple Watch. Apple Pay. Orchards. They use one word for their product names. Their building designs follow the same color schemes, their architecture is minimal and simple, using subtle eye-catching designs to help break up the monotony of a simple white wall.

They're going to be the first trillion dollar company, currently running a market cap north of 800 billion. They're pretty good at being legally protected.

Being simple should be Apple's motto. It's shown through all of their products and design standpoints. It's been consistent all the way through their product lines with a bit of a transition after Tim Cook took over when they really embraced it.
